Our Amazing Oceans Webinar Series, Part 1: Stellwagen Bank Marine National Sanctuary

Located at the mouth of the Massachusetts Bay, Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary serves as the foraging ground for whales, as a haven for sea turtles, and as the home to dozens of species of fish.

The area was designated as a Marine Sanctuary in 1992. But while sanctuary regulations ban mineral extraction, like offshore drilling, other activities -- like shipping and commercial fishing -- degrade the habitat and threaten the lives of species that rely on the unique ecosystem.

Join us to hear Les Kaufman, Professor of Biology at Boston University and member of the Sanctuary Advisory Council, share his research on this ecological treasure. You'll also listen to Priscilla Brooks, Director of Ocean Conservation at Conservation Law Foundation, talk about her work to protect this ocean treasure and what you can do to help preserve this special place.

RSVP today to join the webinar on May 19 at 6:00 p.m ET.
